Welcome to the Freshman 101 research guide! There are four central learning outcomes for this guide. After going through this guide, we hope you will:

• Be comfortable enough to use the library catalog and find books and journals in the library
  
• Understand what a peer-reviewed article is and how to identify one
  
• Understand what databases are and how to use them
• Know what services, study spaces and technology are available to you in the library
  

Browse the tabs along the top to learn about the library and for tips on completing your research. The library and its helpful assistants are located in building 35, near Dexter Lawn (campus map). Consult a librarian or library assistant with any questions, by coming to the Research Help Desk (in room 111) or the Circulation Desk, right as you enter the library.
