Data is an increasingly important element in a wide array of disciplinary, scholarly, and professional communications. Data and spatial literacy is growing as an important as skill that will support effective problem-solving, innovation, collaboration, and other activities for faculty and students.

The Data Services program revolves around the discovery, exploration, creation, and sharing of data via technology, consultation, collaboration, and pedagogy in support of Cal Poly’s mission, programs of learning, and research. Data Services includes GIS, Maps, and Data Management.

The Data Studio is the center of Cal Poly's Data Services program. Located in Kennedy Library's Room 111C, the space facilitates interdisciplinary exchange of ideas surrounding data as the new text.
